Lula Grace Whitehead

3/31/09 Lula Grace Whitehead was born at 7:07 PM, 8lbs.

Confirming what I had long believed would be the case, she is indeed the most beautiful little girl in the world. Though I myself am biased anyone who has met Lula has confirmed this. The past few days we have gotten to know Lula and loved every minute of it, she is very laid back so far, and so much so that we have to wake her up to get her to eat or she is content to just sleep all the time.( I understand this is common among newborns but hey...)I would continue on with all the wonderful things about our baby but fear doing so may make you feel less than excited with you own child or any desire you have to have children in the future.

so suffice it to say we love her she is perfect.

Nursery

The nursery is finally about done! I wish I had done before an after pictures...but I didn't think of it at the time. Painting this rooms took me, Mom and Joe three WHOLE weekends. We are really happy with how it turned out! Now I just have to clean out the closet... :(

It's a....

...GIRL!!!
We are very excited about our little girl! We can't wait to meet her! During the ultrasound the technician paused on her face for a minute and we actually saw her yawn! It was SO cool! On top of the exciting news that she is a girl we also learned that she is developing perfectly so far.

Joe's Project

I wanted to share Joe's current project. I'm so happy that Joe loves what he does every day and I'm very proud of how hard he works and what he accomplishes each day. Below is a link to a web cam that is on the parking structure over looking the construction of Avalon Walnut Creek. On the left of the page you can zoom in and see some of the details.

Baby News

9/23: Yesterday was our first official ultrasound. For those of you who don't know my official due date is April 7th. It was really cool to get to see how much the baby has grown in the last two weeks. The tech who did the ultrasound was having a really hard time getting a spinal measurement because the baby wasn't in the right spot, so she was push really hard on my belly and jiggling the paddle around to get the baby to move. The baby didn't really seem to like all the jiggling because he/she was kicking and squirming. It was really cool to see the baby moving its little hands and feet though. My next ultrasound will be on Nov 17th and we will be able to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl! YES, we are going to find out! I see no benefit to not finding out...plus I'm just too excited! My morning sickness has gotten substantially better. However, I still have to eat every 2 hours to keep from feeling like I'm going to pass out and/or throw up. I guess its not really that bad...it is just annoying to always be carrying around food with me everywhere.

UPDATE 9/25: Actually the morning sickness is gone! My mom said that 12 weeks was magical like that! I woke up the other day and I felt good and I didn't have to eat every 2 hours to keep myself feeling that way. I'm glad, it was getting really annoying hauling food with me everywhere. I was beginning to feel like a toddler in church with my cereal in a baggy.

Sorry no pictures. We still haven't bought one since ours went missing in Mexico. I need to buy one soon!
